Norms are the collectively agreed upon expectations/ rules/ regulations of a particular culture which people follow. There are a variety of cultural groups all around us and that means there are numerous norms which are definitely varied in nature. Let me give you a small example. In America, maintaining direct eye contact while talking to others is expected and that is the “norm”.
